FigZero 1/6 Red Power Ranger - The Return Review: A Premium Display Piece

The Power Rangers franchise has seen a resurgence in popularity, and with it comes a wave of premium collectibles. One of the most anticipated releases is the FigZero 1/6 Red Power Ranger from The Return comic series. As a fan, you might be wondering if this figure lives up to the hype. In this review, we'll dive deep into the details, articulation, and overall value of this impressive piece.

FigZero, known for their high-quality 1/6 scale figures, has taken on the iconic Red Ranger with a modern twist. The Return, a comic series that explores an alternate timeline, has given us a grittier, more mature take on the classic heroes. This figure captures that essence perfectly. But does it justify its premium price tag? Let's find out.

Unboxing and First Impressions

The packaging is sleek and collector-friendly, with a window display that shows off the figure beautifully. Inside, you'll find the figure, multiple interchangeable hands, a weapon set, and a display stand. The box art is striking, featuring the Red Ranger in a dynamic pose, which sets the tone for what's inside.

Upon first handling, the figure feels substantial and well-built. The paint application is clean, with no noticeable defects. The suit details are faithfully recreated, from the textured suit to the metallic accents. The helmet is particularly impressive, with a glossy finish that catches the light nicely.

• Premium packaging with window display
• Multiple interchangeable hands and accessories
• Clean paint application with no defects

Articulation and Posability

The FigZero line is known for its excellent articulation, and this figure doesn't disappoint. With over 30 points of articulation, you can achieve a wide range of dynamic poses. The joints are tight but smooth, holding poses well without feeling fragile. The double-jointed elbows and knees allow for deep bends, perfect for action-packed stances.

The shoulders have a butterfly joint that extends forward, enabling a natural two-handed grip on the Power Sword. The ankle rockers provide solid ground contact, making it easy to balance even in dynamic poses. Whether you're recreating scenes from The Return or just displaying it in a heroic stance, the articulation is more than sufficient.

• 30+ points of articulation
• Double-jointed elbows and knees
• Butterfly joints for natural weapon poses

Accessories and Display Options

The figure comes with a variety of accessories, including multiple hand options (fists, open palms, and gripping hands), a Power Sword, a Power Blaster, and a display stand with the Red Ranger logo. The weapons are detailed and painted well, with a metallic sheen that matches the suit.

The display stand is a nice addition, though some collectors might prefer a more elaborate base. However, the stand is functional and helps with dynamic poses. If you're looking to expand your collection, you might also consider other Power Rangers figures like the Furai Action Green Ranger - Signature Edition or the Furai Action Pink Ranger, which offer a different scale but similar quality.

• Multiple hand options for various poses
• Power Sword and Power Blaster included
• Display stand with logo

Comparison with Other Power Rangers Figures

When compared to other Power Rangers figures on the market, the FigZero 1/6 scale stands out for its realism and attention to detail. The larger scale allows for more intricate detailing, which is a step up from the smaller 6-inch figures. If you're a fan of the comics, this is a must-have.

However, if you're looking for a more budget-friendly option, there are other lines available. For example, the GO! Kara Kuri Combine Dragonzord is a fun, transformable figure that offers play value at a lower price point. But for serious collectors, the FigZero Red Ranger is a worthy centerpiece.

• 1/6 scale offers superior detail
• Premium price point, but worth it for collectors
• Alternative options available for budget-conscious fans

The FigZero 1/6 Red Power Ranger - The Return is a top-tier collectible that delivers on all fronts. From its impeccable sculpt to its versatile articulation, it's a must-have for any Power Rangers fan. While the price may be high, the quality justifies it.
