How to Verify Authenticity of Sentai Autographs

Quick answer

To verify a Sentai autograph, start by checking the provenance: a direct purchase from a reputable source like Tokullectibles' PMC mail-in service is the strongest proof. Look for consistent ink, natural pen pressure, and a signature that matches known examples. Avoid items with no paperwork or suspiciously low prices.

Frequently Asked Questions About Sentai Autograph Authenticity

How can I verify a Reiko Chiba autograph?

Start by confirming the source. If it came from a PMC mail-in service like the one offered by Tokullectibles, you have a direct chain of custody. Compare the signature to known examples from official signings. Check for consistent ink and natural pen pressure. A mail-in service autograph is the most trustworthy option.

What if I bought an autograph secondhand?

Ask the seller for any paperwork, photos of the signing, or a certificate of authenticity. Look for a match between the signature and the actor's typical style. If the price was too good to be true, it probably is. Without provenance, assume the autograph is unverified until proven otherwise.

Are mail-in autograph services safe?

Yes, when offered by a reputable retailer like Tokullectibles. You send your item directly to the actor or their representative, and it is returned signed. The service fee covers the autograph and return shipping, so there is no third-party handling that could compromise authenticity. Mail-in services provide the strongest authenticity guarantee available.

Can I trust autographs sold at conventions?

Convention autographs are generally reliable if you get them signed in person. However, if you buy from a third-party vendor at the convention, ask for proof of the signing. Some vendors may sell forgeries, especially for popular actors. In-person signings are trustworthy; third-party sales require caution.

What should I do if I suspect a forgery?

Stop using the item as a collectible and contact the seller for a refund. If the seller is uncooperative, report the incident to the platform where you bought it. In the future, stick to verified sources like mail-in services or direct purchases from the actor. Protect your collection by buying from trusted sources only.
